Frequently asked questions.
Who is Sports Heart for?
Sports Heart is designed for active adults aged 35+, particularly masters athletes and endurance athletes who train regularly or compete. It’s ideal if you want to understand your cardiac fitness, manage long-term heart health, or simply train with confidence.
What does the screening involve?
Your Sports Heart journey includes:
An online health questionnaire and pathology test.
A review by our medical team.
An in-clinic screening with advanced imaging (stress echocardiogram and ECG).
A personalised report with your benchmark results and recommendations.
What if my blood test or questionnaire shows an existing health risk or condition?
If your results show any signs of elevated risk, our doctors will review them before your clinic visit.
In some cases, you may be referred directly to a cardiologist rather than attending the in-clinic screening.
This ensures you receive the right care at the right time, and you won’t be charged anything beyond your initial $300 pre-check payment.
This review is an important safeguard for your health and ensures the program remains focused on prevention.
Can I reschedule or cancel my appointment?
Change of plans? No problem — here’s how it works:
7+ days before your in-clinic screening: You can reschedule or cancel for free.
Within 7 days: The $300 safety pre-check (questionnaire + pathology review) becomes non-refundable.
72–24 hours before your appointment: 50% of the $950 balance applies.
Less than 24 hours or no-show: 100% of the $950 balance applies.
If our doctors refer you straight to a cardiologist after the pre-check, you’ll only pay the initial $300.
How long does the full screening take?
The in-clinic appointment typically takes around 30 minutes, including imaging and stress testing. The results call with our medical team takes an addition 20 minutes, usually 2-3 days following your in-clinic screening.
Will I get a report?
Yes - every participant receives a personalised Sports Heart Report that includes your results, interpretation, and tailored next steps for your cardiac health management.
Can my results be shared with my GP?
Absolutely. With your consent, we can share your report directly with your GP or sports doctor for continuity of care.
Where are screenings held?
Screenings are held in Ford Health clinics across Brisbane, Sydney, and Melbourne. Regional and Pop-up sessions for Sports Clubs and Group bookings can also be arranged based on request.
